Small producers from the surrounding villages every day come to this market, the central gathering place for food sales, to offer their leafy greens and rich meats that vanish from the stalls in no time. You will find everything here – from turnips to bee pollen and unnamed seeds that will, according to the vendors, improve your digestion. Old cafes and randomly scattered bar chairs surround the trading chaos on the upper level, while the lower level boasts a wide variety of fresh meat. There you will be able to find not just fresh produce, but also different kinds of cheese, herbs, nuts, seeds in bulk, olives sold by the kilo, and many other things. There is also a fish market (amateurs should prepare nose clips) and a special area for cheese (nose clips are welcome here too) which will encourage you to wander around Dolac – a place entirely dedicated to all kinds of food.
